The Frietsch Family: October 2008

We came back from Norway Wednesday night, and on Saturday we all drove down to Zeeland, Michigan to spend some time with Skyler and Kody - the girls cousins. But even if we were tired we had a great time playing in the local park. It had a BIG playground and Eric grilled hot dogs and burgers for lunch.....

We were lucky and had extra seats next to us. So the girls could stretch out and sleep. Personally I got about 45 min of sleep.

The girls got a gift from Aunt Gunn, Uncle Mike , Benjamin and Julian. Benjamin wanted to help unwrap the gift.

It's nice to have a rest after dinner. Especially since we just traveled across the world.

The first day we were in Norway, we meet up with my dad and my half brother and half sister.

Ther next day we went to Bergen with Uncele Mike and his family. Her is Elizabeth in front of a fish counter.

Here you see Benjamin and Anna enjoing the view from the Fløibanen I am not sure what Elizabeth is looking at.....

This "train" is uses by the locals everyday as a part of there comute to and from school, work and town. There is also beatiful trails on the top of the mountain. http://www.floibanen.com/default.asp

"Rosenkrantz tower

( http://www.histos.no/bergen/vis.php?id=50&kat=2&spr=en ) was built in the 1560s by the goverjor of Bergen Castle. Erik Rosenkrantz, and served as a combined residence and fortified tower." This is a part of the historic area of Bergen called "the festning" Bergenshus fortress.

Håkons hallen is a part of the fortress and "was build during the reign of King Håkon Håkonsson between 1247 and1261. It was the largest most imposing building of the roal residency in the 13th -century wan Bergen was the political center of Norway."
